We usually start with a specification of your requirements, and then issue a fixed price quotation along with an understanding document with the scope of work, milestones, deliverables, etc. Once you have accepted the quote we further discuss and create an initial Statement of work for signing off. We then create a HTML wireframe / Winforms along with the database design and embed the design elements (tables / fields / validations / data rules) into a Functional specifications document at appropriate places. We then walk through this with you to ensure that we have correctly understood the relationships between all of the different data entities and the user interface.
The next delivery will be the preliminary version or an Alpha release. This will include a basic framework and few critical functionalities, allowing you to see what it will look like. This iterative approach lets you see the application as it is developing, allows you to influence the design, enables you to correct any misunderstandings at an early stage, lets you check that we are keeping to the agreed timescale and ensures that the application that we deliver to you is the same, or better, than the one that it was originally planned.
We then deliver to you the feature complete version or a Beta release, after which you undertake your final acceptance testing before the application 'goes live' (i.e. starts to be used for real work). Because small issues may occur in the first few weeks, we include free support for the first two to three months, depending on the size and criticality of the project! Also don't forget our unique software guarantee; any bugs that surfaces on our code, will be fixed free of charge for 3 years!
