JMRN is a Tokyo-based market research company that was established in 1990.  We specialize in qualitative market research and pride ourselves on providing innovative research techniques to delve into the Japanese end-user’s mind – including both general consumers and business customers.

In addition to focusing on lifestyle categories such as food and beverages, automobiles and airlines, JMRN has four core specialty segments: consumer financial products, luxury branded goods, healthcare and pharmaceuticals and IT (including e-commerce and website usability).

Approximately 80% of our client base is comprised of foreign multinationals, with the remaining 20% made up of Japanese companies.  We increasingly offer our services in other Asian markets.

Through our network of regional affiliates, JMRN offers a full range of qualitative research products and services that are in tune with the ethnic distinctions, cultural nuances and social dynamics of the Asia-Pacific region.  The advantages of utilizing JMRN for regional market research assignments include improved cost efficiency, as well as consistency in methodology, fieldwork quality, analysis and native English-language reporting.

JMRN is a member of the European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR) and the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ).  JMRN president, Debbie Howard, served as president of the ACCJ in 2004 and 2005, chairman in 2006 and 2007, and continues to serve as ACCJ President Emeritus.
