Accomplish the above in a way that increases the stature of the ACCJ.

Client Description: Established in 1948 by representatives of 40 American firms, the ACCJ has grown into one of the most influential business organizations in Japan, with more than 3,000 individual members representing more than forty countries and 1,400 companies. The mission of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan is to further the development of commerce between the United States of America and Japan, promote the interests of U.S. companies and members, and improve the international business environment in Japan.

PROJECT Implementation
Facilitate and improve ACCJ information dissemination by:

- Enhance Japanese language capability. The navigation of the site toggles from English to Japanese, mirror-like, and client through an administration site is able to enter the text for both languages into the mirror navigation and set the destination of each navigation link.

- Improve navigation (i.e. increasing functionality). Admin is able to create menu and sub-menu items and set links of those items independently of page creation. Each news/event item has automatically a unique URL. It is possible to create sets of pages that can be navigated through an optional right-column navigation with expand/collapse capability. Menus and content can be added in advance and can be published only after clicking Publish menu.

- Improve search functionality. Provide Search results in tabular format where different columns like result found last saved and actions like sorting will be available.

- Improve content management tools (i.e. user friendly architecture). For each section content can be added through the editor component. The editor has many options where the content can be added for chosen link/page along with uploading files, if any, as well as images for specific content. Formatting options allow the administrator to easily manage content without coding in html (but with the option to use html if desired).

- Enhance the News and Events sections. Admin sets timing for news and events: 1) front page, and 2) archive by month and year. The solution allows: 1) more than one headline and subhead to appear at the same time on the front page. It allows the admin to rank the front-page headlines. 2) news and events items can be categorized so that archives can be maintained in separate categories, which the admin can create or remove at will.

- Create a Committee section managed by Admin and Leaders. Committee leaders can access assigned committee pages with username and password. Only after admin approves changes the information added by committee leaders will show on the live site.

- Robust Advertising Management. Groups of ads can be assigned to pages. The groups can be set to rotate or hold fixed positions. Multiple groups can be assigned to the pages.
